Springfield Jaycees Capital City Celebration 2018 Dog Pageant
We were happy to sponsor the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize baskets for the Springfield Jaycees Capital City Celebration 2018 Dog Pageant.
We wanted to sponsor the baskets because…a) because everyone knows how much we love dogs and b) because we want to support local businesses (through the purchase of these items – many of which were created right here in Springfield and/or Illinois) and because we want to give back to the community that continues to support us! The Serious Lip Balm paw balms are made of completely organic ingredients so super safe for our pups!!!

Old Capitol Farmers Market
We visited the Old Capitol Farmers Market and fell in love with the healthy, fresh, vegetables grown by family-run Harvest & Blooms Farm. Fellow Local First Springfield members, husband and wife team, Garrick and Violeta Veenstra have been committed to organic and sustainable practices since farming their land in Springfield/Rochester in 2006. You can even purchase plants to grow your own! We can’t wait to see what they have on offer at Saturday’s farmers market. #LoveSpringfield #CleanEating #Fresh

International Firefighters Day
For #InternationalFirefightersDay on May 4 we wanted to say thank you to Station 12’s crew on South Koke Mill Rd, our nearby neighbors, for their service – with lunch from Cafe Moxo! #LoveSpringfield Springfield Illinois Fire Department.
They were extremely thankful for the free lunch and we are THANKFUL for the Firefighters!

Whether it’s teaching a group of seniors how to live a healthier life, running a holiday food drive, buying lunch to celebrate our area Firefighters or paying tribute to local nurses…we believe in supporting the community and the people who live among us.
